Violin Lessons

I teach violin at Westcliff school, Dawlish, on Thursday lunchtimes. Lessons are £6 and children are normally taught in small groups. If you are interested in learning here, either grab me at the school gate, or speak to Mrs Mugford, the music co-ordinator.

I have a few private students too.  I charge £12.50 for half an hour (if travelling within Dawlish) and suggest that lessons should take place weekly.  Please let me know if you are interested in learning.

Violins to hire:

I have  small collection of violins that I would be happy to hire out to my pupils. I know that the initial cost of an instrument can be expensive and puts people off. It’s important to get the right size, not get one that they can “grow into”. You could strain your arm by over stretching. Teign Music in Teignmouth are very helpful, they also have a selection of used instrument.

My collection so far…

One 3/4 sized violin. It would be suitable for about a 10 year old (hired out).

One 1/2 sized violin

One 1/4 sized suitable for about 6-7 year old (hired out)

I have grade 7 violin (with distinction), grade 8 viola (with merit) and 10 years’ experience with working with primary aged children. Please see my home page for more details.
